International American University conducted its summer 2018 new student ordination on 7th of May 2018 at campus in Vieux Fort. All the new students and many of their family members attended the event. Dr. Patrick Gannon, Chief Academic Officer presented the welcome remarks to the new students and their families. “I am very excited about this semester and this class, starting in a new school can be stressful with anxieties and fears, Faculty and staff are here to assist and guide you and make your stay here more comfortable” said Dr. Gannon.
Dr. James, Dean of Basic Sciences, applauded the students for choosing IAU, he further explained the rules, exams, disciplines, academic performances & various committees. He introduced the Faculty member to the new students. Dr. Rasheed, Dean of Student Affairs, mentioned the various clubs and organizations and encouraged the students to be part of the associations here at IAU. He stated that the Vieux-Fort and its surrounding is an integral part community and that students should be respectful as all times. Dr. Rasheed spoke on the various aspects of the community life and activities, which included: Banking, Insurance, mobile services, safety at home and at school, fire.
Ms. Joan Daniel – Librarian spoke briefly about the Library Policies & the availability of EBSCO to assist students with research and projects.
The orientation exercise culminated with student registration for all students.
