In observance of vaccination week, the St. Lucia Ministry of Health and wellness through the community nursing department hosted a fun walk/ parade under the theme “Get Vaccinated to Celebrate a Healthy tomorrow”.  The International American University College of Medicine was invited to participate to help sensitize awareness to the public on the importance of vaccination as an integral part of healthy living; reduction of morbidity and mortality; and protection from diseases. As keen advocates for community development and empowerment IAU not only took to the streets but also took liberty to prepare poster and placards to help drive this message home. On Thursday May 11th, 2017 the students along with faculty joined various schools, ministries, workplaces and civil society chanting vaccination slogans around the town of Vieux- Fort.
