Being a medical student, you study a lot. However, every now and then, you get the chance to enjoy island life and relax.
IAU prides itself on producing well-rounded individuals and here are a few things our students have been up to.
Saint Lucia Independence Day
IAU recently joined in the early celebrations of St. Lucia’s 37th Anniversary of Independence. The official date is on February 22nd. Students faculty and staff came dressed in the colors of the flag and participated in a short ceremony, featuring St. Lucia’s history and heritage. Alsi available were St. Lucian treats for sampling.
Second AMSA Clinic
Students recently participated in the second American Medical Student Association clinic. The aim of the clinic was to provide a unique, hands-on training for students. The goal of the organization is to improve medical training of those preparing to enter the healthcare profession.
World Heart Day
IAU students, faculty and staff recently celebrated World Heart Day on February 11, 2016. World Heart Day is celebrated by wearing red in an effort to raise awareness about heart health.
According to the World Heart Federation, World Heart Day helps to the global fight against cardiovascular disease (CVD) – including heart disease and stroke.
