Location of UK Campus, Kent
Studying in the UK is a life changing experience. The UK is the home of modern medicine and clinical learning is backed by one of the finest healthcare systems in the world. The International American University UK Campus is located in Kent, a country in South East England and one of the home counties that borders Greater London to the north-west, Surrey to the west and East Sussex to the south-west, and Essex to the north across the estuary of the River Thames. Kent is not called the Garden of England for no reason. The beautiful beaches, historical castles, and fantastic culture are all a once in a lifetime opportunity we want our students to experience. Please visit www.visitkent.co.uk for a complete guide to what this area has to offer.
Student Housing and Transportation
The Office of Student Affairs will provide a list of managed accommodation facilities that are accessible to IAU Students. Kent is easily accessible by bus, train and car and is a less than1 hour train journey away from central London. Eurostar services stopping in Kent are due to resume in 2023 after brief disruption from the coronavirus pandemic.
The Student Experience
Our aim is to be a world-class environment that gives high quality academic, social and cultural facilities to undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world. Figures alone cannot capture the experience of learning and living at the university. We are small enough to feel warm and friendly, but we are also big enough to provide our students with outstanding extracurricular activities, including a host of clubs, sporting activities and community/ volunteering groups. Our libraries, IT facilities and informal study spaces keep students connected and support independent learning and we continually invest in new and existing facilities, training and technology. We have a comprehensive network of support services to ensure that our students can get help and advice on all aspects of university life – academic, personal, financial and practical – if and when they need it. Our student’s union aims to make sure that you get the most out of your time with us both personally and professionally.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
We are proud of the diversity of our campus; it is our strength and makes our community stronger. The experience of studying here must be positive and welcoming for everyone, of all backgrounds. We understand that this is the responsibility of all of us and everyone must play an active part. We are determined to tackle racial discrimination in all its forms.
