The IAU Chapter of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) organized the first community clinic of the semester on Saturday, February 8th, 2020 from 10 am – 1 pm at the IAU Campus in Vieux Fort. About 24 students volunteered at the clinic. The health check up conducted by the students included Heart rate/pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and blood glucose levels.

The students also took patient histories and conducted physical exams for patients who requested it under medical supervision. We had over 60 people from the local community that attended the clinic.  This event was a great learning opportunity for the students to put into practice the clinical skills that they have learned. This event was also an opportunity for AMSA (IAU Chapter) to give back to the community that has supported us for so long. We consider ourselves members of this community and we wanted to make a positive contribution to the community that we live in.
