Fall 2009 White Coat Ceremony

September 11, 2009 6.00 PM

Our first semester students will never be the same again as they symbolically don their white coats for the first time last September 11, 2009 at Kimatrai Hotel to signify their entry in the field of medicine. It was an eventful night as Dr. Jayant Mohite, Dean of the Basic Sciences, welcomed the parents, staff and faculty with kind words to our students. Everybody felt inspired as a special award of excellence was given to James Stewart for garnering a percentile score of 99 in the USMLE STEP 1 exam. Dr. Olusina Adesanya, the clinics coordinator at St. Lucia spoke about the significance of the white coat as students embark on the clinics. Dr. James Villanueva gave the closing remarks while Denise Simmons acted as the gracious emcee of the gathering.
