Externship Program
At IAU we understand Medical Education and the process of getting licensed in the United States. We currently offer externship programs in various specialties for International Medical Graduates. The clinical experience will not only increase your ability to apply for multiple programs but also place you ahead of other applicants.

This program is aimed to benefit foreign physicians to help increase their chances of getting into a US residency program. The goal of this program is to provide a strong clinical experience as well as a basic overview of the American medical system as it is carried out in a Hospital setting. Externs can expect to participate, with their American colleagues, in a Hospital that enjoys an outstanding international reputation for interdisciplinary coordination of education, research, diagnosis and treatment.
Upon completion of the externship the extern will receive Letter of Recommendations (LOR) from each attending mentor certifying their participation and describing their level of clinical acumen and proficiency. In effect, the LOR summarizes observations regarding the extern's projected suitability as a candidate to a US residency program.
6 week program
The Six weeks program gives you access to one full rotation which would meet the requirements of many residency programs. You would also receive a letter of recommendation from the attending Physician.
12 week program
The twelve weeks program gives you access to rotations in two specialities and would meet the requirements of most of the residency programs. You would also receive two letters of recommendation from attending physicians.
Specialized Clinical Training
This program is offered to practicing physicians outside the US, who wish to gain additional training in specialized areas within the US Health system. This program is meant to benefit foreign physicians who wish to gain expertise in specialized fields that may be unavailable in their home countries.
