Campus welcomes the new students of IAU with a trip to Soufriere. Members of the Student Government Association & new students found the Soufriere outing a “fun filled & exciting one!”
Our first stop was the well-known Sulphur Springs in Saint Lucia; it is also the Caribbean’s only drive-in volcano. A walk through the crater takes you past pools and hot springs bubbling steam. Just outside the springs, you can bathe in the warm sulphuric pools & the famous mud bath. There was a brief tour of the Volcano, the tour guide gave a five minute presentation which was very educational.
Next stop was at the Jerusalem Falls, very interesting natural attraction, it’s a five minutes’ walk to the baths.  The students enjoyed the hot & warm baths, James Reede, PM 1 said,” it was very relaxing.” They loved how beautiful nature is.
Sugar Beach is one of the most luxurious beaches on the Island. The students felt right at home there, the sunset was amazing, it was beautiful scenery. The students jumped into the water and had the time of their lives. The student also went on a boat ride; thereafter they met the famous British comedian, Russell Brand (ex-husband Katy Perry).  The evening concluded with a scrumptious dinner.  Dr. Prasad– Anatomy Professor,  renamed the Island “Paradise  Island”    Click Here to View More Photos
