The Hewanorra Airport full scale simulation exercise was carried out on July 25, 2014 on the old runway adjacent to the International airport. It was designed to test the responsiveness of the professional emergency response agencies (fire, health, and police) in the southern region of St Lucia.

It was an exercise that is designed using the Incident Command System that relies on Team work, Command and Respectability. There was no place for any self centered or meretricious individual. The students mixed well with other members of the health team from St.Jude’s Hospital, Vieux Fort and the other response agencies. IAU has always been involved as a member of the health team in this exercise since its inception in 2004. The school has always provided a team of students for this exercise.
