International American University College of Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Richard Scott as the new Dean of Clinical Sciences at the college’s clinical campus in Baltimore, MD.

International American University College of Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Richard Scott as the new Dean of Clinical Sciences at the college’s clinical campus in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Scott’s distinguished career began in 1968 as a resident at New York University School of Medicine where he was named chief resident in 1971. He later completed a general surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins University and a cardiovascular/thoracic surgery fellowship at George Washington University Medical Centre.

A native of Maryland, Dr. Scott has been involved in academic medicine for more than four decades. He has been immensely involved in medical education having served as a project scientist for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) campus in Bethesda, MD. He has also served as the director and chief of surgery of the Washington Cardiovascular Institute.

His academic commitments and faculty appointments have included a tenured faculty appointment at Tuskegee Institute, Morehouse University School of Medicine and Trinity School of Medicine, Prior to joining International American University College of Medicine he also served as Associate Dean with Saba University, School of Medicine. The University’s Senior Leadership Team is extremely delighted to welcome Dr. Scott to the IAU family.
