2016 New Student Orientation opened with a guided tour of Saint Lucia. Students were shown the sites and important landmarks during the tour. The event was aimed at introducing students to living in St. Lucia

Organized by Student Services, the event is designed to connect new students with current students and faculty. The goal of the many workshops and seminars during orientation are aimed at helping students with  the rigors of medical school.

Other events included a guide to survive island life, a student clubs and organizations fair as well class registration day. Dr. Radbeh Torabi, integrated plastic surgery resident at Louisiana State University, student Orientation concluded with the celebration of the White Coat Ceremony.
