Dr. Patrick Gannon, Chief Academic Officer presented at the Vision 2030, Vieux Fort and spoke about the medical school vision for Vieux Fort and explained the impact medical schools, in particular IAU, has on the economy. IAU students and faculty contribute around five million US dollars annually to the Vieux Fort economy and this number is expected to increase to 10 million by 2018. He also spoke about how much the IAU family cares for Saint Lucia and the community of Vieux Fort. The opening of the free student-run clinic has been a major blessing for local residents and the first clinic saw an attendance of 90 patients. He was among many other presenters who make significant contributions to Saint Lucia.

Vieux Fort residents and business owners gathered at the town’s fisheries complex conference room on Sunday March 5th, 2017 to discuss plans for the southern town’s development.  The main purpose of Vision 2030 Vieux Fort is to “give rise to a culture of engagement, bring people together to think deeper about their future, and to spark engagement where people of Saint Lucia can formulate a vision for the community of Vieux Fort, a vision for 2030!”

IAU is proud and honored to continue to be part of the growth Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia.
