In 2014 the University of Toronto accepted 259 medical students out of 3153 applicants. This is just a 9% acceptance rate which highlights the competitive nature of getting into a Canadian Medical School. RECOGNIZED BY THE MEDICAL COUNCIL FOR CANADA
IAU College of Medicine is recognized by the Medical Council for Canada. Students are eligible to sit MCC examinations and apply for licensure.
RESIDENCY AND LICENSURE
IAU has been successful in placing Canadian students into residencies in Canada.
Canadian students are eligible to participate in both the U.S. National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and the Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS). Students much pass the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination in order to be eligible to participate in CaRMS.

IAU graduates have secured residency spots at coveted hospitals and are currently practicing throughout Canada. Our graduates have matched at University of Ottawa and Queens University to name a few.
FINANCIAL AID OPTIONS
IAU’s Canadian students are approved to apply for financial aid through their provinces. In addition, numerous banks provide student lines of credit to supplement or substitute for the provincial loan alternative. IAU students can also access OSAP.
