IAU follows a trimester system with classes starting in January, May, and September. Typically school starts on the first Monday of these months. Students may apply for admission to the program at any time throughout the year. (up to a year in advance); early applications are encouraged.

The Office of Admissions is dedicated to providing ample support to our applicants. We will ensure that all your questions about our basic sciences and clinical programs are answered. We will also help you understand U.S./Canadian residency, licensure requirements, and foreign medical education as a whole.

Applications are processed within 24-48 hours of receipt of all required documents and payment of the application fee. If you meet our requirements, a personal interview will be scheduled on your behalf. After completion of the personal interview, the Admissions Committee will inform you of their decision within 5 business days. If an offer of acceptance is made, the candidate must respond within 7 days or default the opportunity to the next qualified candidate in line.

We highly encourage students and family members to travel to Saint Lucia for a campus tour. IAU offers a Flight Reimbursement Program for all prospective students who wish to visit the island and campus before attending. This reimbursement is offered for the prospective student’s flight cost (up to $500 USD) and is credited toward the second semester’s tuition. Campus visits are arranged on an individual basis through the Office of Admissions, as some dates are not available for campus visits. Contact us at 972-919-5103 or via email at admissions@iau.edu.lc to arrange your visit; approval must be obtained before purchasing an airline ticket

Pre-Health Advisors are our main advocates in schools. Through offering career counseling to students, advisors help shape and broaden career choices for college-bound students. IAU maintains close bonds with advisors and counselors who work directly with our prospective Caribbean medical school students. We want advisors to be confident that the information they provide about IAU is accurate, thorough and current.

The Advisor Campus Visit Program (ACVP) allows advisors to visit our campus, meet our faculty and students, and learn why it’s an excellent option for their students. Advisors also have an opportunity to shadow classes and tour campus facilities, which include classrooms, labs, lounge and study areas, and student housing.

To learn more about ACVP, please contact our Office of Office of Admissions at 972-484-9700 or via email at admissions@iau.edu.lc
