A leading community activist, Mr. Nair has served as the President of Federation of Kerala Associations of North America and the General Secretary of National Federation of Indian Associations and currently serves as the General Secretary of Greater Dallas Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. A highly successful entrepreneur, Mr. Nair is the Founder President & CEO of International American University College of Medicine, St Lucia, and has established a network of Health Care companies in the State of Texas, USA. He completed his post graduate residency in Psychiatry at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY where he was an Assistant Professor. He served as the Medical Director for the Psychiatry Consult service for the University Hospital as well as the Co-Course Director for the Psychiatry third year clerkship at the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine. Dr. Nair supervised many resident physicians and medical students and has a passion for teaching. His areas of interest include Medical Education, Healthcare Administration, and Addiction Psychiatry.Stephen Katz, MD- Dean of Clinical Sciences
Dr. Stephen Katz, MD, FACP joined the faculty of the International American University in February, 2016. Dr. Katz served as the Chairman of Internal Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine for eighteen years, and also served as the director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Prince George’s Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland. He currently practices Internal Medicine in Severna Park Maryland.
Dr. Katz attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in 1992 when he also earned board certification in Internal Medicine. He was an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Maryland Medical School from 1995 to 1998. Dr. Katz completed the faculty development program in medical teaching at Johns Hopkins University in 1997. Dr. Katz is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr.Patrick J Gannon PhD FAAOHNS is a graduate of the City University of New York in Neurobiological Anthropology. He served as a Research Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. In this role, in addition to running his research laboratory in language origins and disorders, he conducted translational research in otology, rhinology and laryngology and elected Research Fellow in the American Academy of Otolarygology and Head and Neck Surgeons. He also conducted space biomedicine educational outreach for NASA based in part on the theme of “The Nose In Space” which pursued research into astronaut respiratory and nutritional wellbeing and performance in the microgravity of space. He has published over 60 peer reviewed articles (many in top journals such as Science, Nature, and PNAS), 123 conference abstracts and funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, American Laryngological Association and the Josiah J Macy Jr Foundation (Presidents Award). During this period, he was also teaching anatomy, histology and neurobiology in Mount Sinai School of Medicine as well as directing a surgical anatomy course for ENT PGY2 residents. Recently, he served as Founding Chair of the Department of Science Education at the new Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, New York. In that setting, after becoming a Harvard Macy Program graduate, he championed department-wide research into interactive teaching and learning in the “Conductor of Interactive Learning” program published in the journal Medical Science Educator in 2016.Nancy Kheck, MBA, Ph.D- Dean Of Academic Affairs
Dr. Nancy Kheck is an adept medical science educator with over 18 years of interdisciplinary and inter-professional teaching and consulting experience (in areas of curriculum design; grantsmanship for biomedical and educational research; professional development programs for medical educators; and K-12 science education). Dr. Kheck served as Assistant Dean & Director of the Curriculum Office at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City. She had oversight of all course-related operations, staffing, academic schedules, space, resource allocation, and supervised MS1-2 teaching faculty. Dr. Kheck’s office supported all institutional reaccreditation work, annual reporting to government oversight agencies, and the use of course-educator-student evaluation data for outcomes assessment to implement continuous quality improvements.
In this role Dr. Kheck was also responsible for recruitment, mentorship and remediation of faculty educators in biomedical/clinical teaching roles, she chaired key education committees, and directed her division through evolving curricular, programmatic and leadership changes. She also co-designed and implemented a mission-based budget paradigm to recognize faculty teaching effort and establish institutional value for this service. In anticipation of the changing financial and regulatory landscape under the Affordable Care Act (2010), Dr. Kheck recently added an MBA degree in Healthcare Industry Management to her diverse skillset.
Dr. Kheck brings to IAU a decade of leadership-management experience in academic administration, organizational & strategic planning, and managing clinical & basic science faculty teams. She welcomes faculty and students to share their IAU experiences and expertise with her as she becomes an integral part of the clinical sciences education team based in Baltimore, and the pre-clerkship basic science program in St. Lucia.James Villanueva, Ph.D- Dean of Basic SciencesProf. James Villanueva is the recepient of the DuPont - National Academy of Science and Technology Young Scientist Award in 2003 and has been teaching Medical Biochemistry, Genetics and Nutrition at IAU since 2005. He received the IAU Faculty of the Year Award in 2006 and was appointed as the Dean of Student Affairs in 2007 and elected Chairman of the Admissions Committee in 2008. Dr. Vilanueva’s research interests include protein folding/misfolding, protein spectroscopy, development of immunoliposomes and biodesulfurization. He has completed Post Doctoral research work at Notre Dame University in Indiana; The Institute for Protein Research, Osaka University, Japan and Bari University, Italy. Over the years, Dr. Villaneuva has consistently made outstanding contribution to student success in NBME Shelf exams and is closely associated with the university student community as the Faculty Advisor to the Student Government Association (SGA). Dr Villaneuva was promoted to full Professor of Biochemistry, Genetics and Nutrition in September of 2011 and then as the Dean of Basic Sciences in 2014, he continues to inspire and be inspired by academia.Rasheed Agboola, MBBS- Dean of Student AffairsDr. Rasheed Agboola obtained his medical degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria and completed the Teaching and Research Fellowship program in Pathology at St. Georges University, Grenada. He holds medical licenses in Grenada and Nigeria. Dr. Rasheed professional and teaching career started at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. He had also worked at Clinical Teaching Unit and St. Georges General hospital, Grenada with the ministry of health. Dr. Rasheed was a Full- time Faculty member in the Department of Pathology at St. Georges University School of Medicine, Grenada for many years and Atlantic University School of Medicine as the Assistant Professor Pathology prior to joining International American University College of Medicine. Dr. Rasheed has a great passion for teaching and has received several awards for teaching from the student bodies and the University. Ms. Sarah Curtis is currently the Director Admissions and manages the admissions office of the University. She started her career with IAU in 2009 and has held various positions including Director of Student Services. Ms. Curtis completed her MBA from Southwest Kingston University in 2016. A very active leader, she supports the student needs with great enthusiasm and has been a pillar of IAU’s success over the years.Syam Kumar, MS, MBA- VP OperationsMr. Kumar completed his MS from Texas A&M University, USA and MBA from Bharatiar University, India. Syam has been a member of the IAU team since its inception in 2002. He was based in St Lucia as the campus administrator during the early days and is currently a member of the management team based in Dallas. Prior to joining IAU he worked with many multinationals including Bank of America in the Wealth and investment management department. Ms. Damini Singh is currently the Director of Financial Aid Services and manages the Sallie Mae Funds and Canadian Student Loan Programs. Ms. Singh has worked with IAU College in many capacities including Admissions and Public Relations. Currently he is responsible for overall strategy, executive management, development and growth of IAU Global Operations. Dr. Suhas Kotbagi is an MD with MBA (Hospital Management) and has 10 plus years of administration and 13 plus years of teaching experience in many of the medical schools in the Caribbean and the island of St. Lucia. He is an enthusiastic, assertive and dedicated individual who believes in team work and carries a philosophy of “everyone is and everybody should be a winner”. Dr. Kotbagi is a graduate Homeopath from India and Doctorate in Homeopathy from UK, and is licensed to practice Homeopathy in India, St. Lucia and Canada. He is in practice for last 23 years. He practices evidence based medicine and mostly specializes in chronic conditions like asthma, autism, cancers, rheumatic diseases etc. His focus is on integrating the two great sciences to the benefit of patients.
